Monthly page views for the English Wikipedia article titled Minecraft. A public thermometer for “people looked it up,” not players online.
When school went remote, more people opened the Wikipedia page. That spike is real attention. It is still not a player-count chart.
1. How busy was the Minecraft page each year?

Real readers on all devices. Late 2026 months can look thin if my save was incomplete.
Mid-2010s averages sat roughly in the 180k–260k views-per-month range. 2020 jumps to about 423k. Later years stay higher than 2017.
2. What this is not
More Wikipedia clicks does not mean “most players ever.” That would need a real player count. I leave that claim out on purpose.
Remote-school years and April 2025 both lit up the Wikipedia page. Busy reading ≠ players online.
How I calculated it
134 monthly points. Yearly average = mean of monthly views in that calendar year. Peak = max(views) across months. Peak month: April 2025 · 627,397 views.
