Dungeons named enchants
126
Wiki list, hub pages pulled out (August 17, 2026).
Java Survival named enchants
43
Same day wiki list, after dropping the hub page, a joke enchant, and a Combat Test enchant.
A count of named lists, not a “which game is better” score. Dungeons I only. Dungeons II is not in these piles yet.
Survival builds a smaller set of tools through crafting and enchants. Dungeons cycles named gear through mission rewards. The counts show how different those item lists are.
Dungeons puts the new gear in the chest
On a family Dungeons night, nobody is punching trees for diamonds. You finish a mission, a chest pops, and someone yells the name of a sword I have never crafted in Survival.
That is one of the clearest differences. Dungeons does not ask you to remember a weapon recipe. It asks you to choose among gear dropped during missions.
I wanted to know how much bigger that pile is than Survival’s named lists, so I counted. The cleanest apples-to-apples count is enchantments: both games publish a list of named enchants.
Dungeons names about three times as many enchants
On August 17, 2026, the Dungeons wiki list had 126 enchantment pages after I pulled out hub pages. The Java wiki list had 46 pages in the enchantments category. I dropped three that are not normal Survival enchantments: the hub page called Enchantment, the joke enchant Potatofication, and Cleaving from the Combat Tests. That leaves 43.
126 ÷ 43 is about 2.9. On the couch that is “about three times as many named enchants.”
Survival still has Sharpness, Smite, Mending, and the rest of the kit you already know. Dungeons keeps some familiar names and then adds more slots, choices, and effects tied to its mission combat.
Weapons are where the piles really stop matching
Enchantments are the fair compare. Weapons are the “so what” you feel in your hands.
Survival does not give you 84 different melee names. It gives you kinds: sword, axe, mace, spear, trident, then materials and enchants on top. Dungeons treats Heartstealer and many other swords as their own named weapons.
The longer named list helps explain why a Dungeons chest can feel busier than a Survival crafting grid. You are not upgrading one sword. You are rolling a new named one.
Missions sit in the same spirit. The wiki names 30 missions and 13 secret missions. Survival does not name your night that way. You pick a direction.
Dungeons is a separate loot-focused action game, not Survival with extra steps. Its named enchantment list is about three times as long, and its weapon list uses many named pieces instead of a short set of craftable types.
How I calculated it
I pulled the Dungeons category pages from minecraft.wiki on August 17, 2026 and removed category hubs from the count. Enchantments 126, melee 84, ranged 72, armor 73, artifacts 54, missions 30, secret missions 13.
Java enchantments: wiki Category:Enchantments, namespace 0, same day, 46 members.
Excluded: Enchantment (hub), Potatofication (24w14potato joke), Cleaving (Java Combat Tests).
46 − 3 = 43.
Ratio = 126 ÷ 43 ≈ 2.93. I say “about three times” on the surface. I do not divide 84 melee names by “number of Survival weapon kinds.” Those units do not match.
These are wiki page counts, not an unpack of the game’s hidden files. A page is a name, not a proof that every name drops equally. Java’s 43 is Survival-shaped after I dropped a hub, a joke, and a test enchant. Other counters can land nearby if they keep those extras. Dungeons II is a different game and is not in this pile.
